How much does it cost to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Horton Plains National Park?

This amazing experience in the Sri Lankan Hill Country is one of the more expensive outings to do while on holiday on the island.

However we think for the experience that you get, it is still worth it.

Horton Plains National Park - an amazing hike in a beautiful landscape

UNESCO Heritage Site, Horton Plains National Park, is a favourite day trip from GlenMyu Estate, Beragala, Haputale, Sri Lanka.

We find that our guests love the feeling of completing the 11 kilometre circular hike.

Highlights are the main stopping points on the walk; Lesser World’s End, Greater World’s End and Baker’s Falls.


The abundant flora and fauna that you will see is also another important part of your hike through this Montane Cloud Forest.

What are the entry costs to Horton Plains?

The entry ticket for Horton Plains National Park is dated 16th January 2024.

The total cost for two foreign adults including the service charge and VAT is LKR 23,258.

This is around US$80, Euro €74 and GBP Sterling £63.

Although this is one of the more expensive experiences in Sri Lanka, still think it is good value overall. 

in addition, you will be helping to preserve an important natural wonder and also help support local employment.
