Sri Lanka aims for 3 million tourists
A huge rise in tourist numbers
Usefully, the Sri Lanka Tourist Development Authority (SLDTA) publishes monthly tourist arrivals so you can see the increasing trend of visitors to the island.
Overtourism?
We have read so many articles about overtourism in parts of Europe and the Americas.Â
At this stage, Sri Lanka is welcoming tourists and will continue to do so for a long tome in the future.
Finding less crowded places
We have found at GlenMyu Estate that there is a desire to seek our less crowded places. Off the Beaten Track or Path are the aims of lots of tourists who want do something different.
GlenMyu Estate is a different experience on the island.
How to avoid the crowds
We think that the best chance of avoiding the crowds is to get up early to see the sights.
I know that this is the opposite of what you want from a holiday. However, you will have plenty of time to relax in the afternoon. Perhaps you can catch up on the missed sleep by taking a siesta!
3 guests bedrooms on 5 acres of land
At GlenMyu Estate, we deliberately did not want to develop too many properties on the five acre estate.Â
Sure, we don’t make as much money as a “proper” commercial business, however we want our guests to enjoy the space.Â
Restoring the land so that it attracts a wider range of biodiversity improving its’ health is also important to us. We believe in providing space to share the property with animals and wildlife.Â
