Sri Lankan cooking demonstrations

What to Expect

Guests are invited into the estate’s open kitchen, where Ruwanthi (affectionately known as Ru) and her mother, Summi, lead informal, hands-on sessions.

These demonstrations are free for guests who order the Sri Lankan sharing platter (minimum two people.

You’ll watch, learn, and even take notes as they prepare vibrant dishes using fresh, local ingredients—many grown right on the estate.

– Coconut sambol and pol roti (coconut flatbread)
– Aromatic rice dishes and mango chutney

Ru brings a unique twist to the experience.

Hhaving lived in the UK for 15 years, she blends Western, Eastern, and fusion styles into her cooking, making the session both authentic and accessible

A relaxed Vibe

It’s relaxed, friendly, and full of laughter.

Guests often share stories, ask questions, and even snap photos or videos to recreate the dishes back home.

Summi, the estate’s Sri Lankan cuisine expert, loves seeing guests’ reactions and often shares family tips passed down through generations

A Lasting Memory

Many guests leave with more than just a full belly—they gain a deeper appreciation for Sri Lankan culture and cuisine.
