The Pekoe Trail’s Stage 22 is the final section of the 300 kilometre Trail from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. It is a 10.81 kilometre hike and takes you to Sri Lanka’s “Little England”.
Nuwara Eliya is known as the “Little England” of Sri Lanka due to its’ colder climate and colonial style bungalows. The town in the misty Central Hills of Sri Lanka at and an elevation of 1,868 metres.
Historically, Nuwara Eliya’s once was a retreat for colonial planters and high-society. Even now there is a season to travel to Nuwara Eliya to avoid the heat of Colombo when the sun is directly over Sri Lanka.

Who is behind the Pekoe Trail
The Pekoe Trail is part of the European Union’s 5.7 million Euro (LKR 2.2 billion) support for Sri Lanka’s national tourism strategy.
In addition, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) also provided approximately $787,000 (approximately LKR 283 million) to support the trail.
What will I see on this stage of the Pekoe Trail?
