A new Magazine Launch - Why were we there?
We were delighted to be invited to the new magazine launch of Elevare Magazine.
The event took place on the 16th of July 2025 at the Cumulus Ballroom at Cinnamon Life in Colombo.
We were invited as GlenMyu Estate was featured in the first edition of this new luxury, business and lifestyle magazine.
If you pick up the magazine you will find us on page 82 “Hidden Gem in the Hills’.
A welcome invitation
Amith, Product Coordinator at Elevare Magazine had visited us at GlenMyu Estate in early January 2025 to visit the estate for the first time.
The weather had not been great in early January.  So we were hoping the photos would do the natural beauty  justice despite the lack of glorious sunlight.
It was therefore wonderful to be contacted by Amith to invite us to the launch of Elevare Magazine.
Here is the invitation we received to the event.
It was our first time at the City of Dreams in Colombo.
We made our way to the Cumulus Ballroom on the 22nd floor of the building.
The dress code was Black Tie | Timeless Glamour.
This apparel is far from what we wear when we are at GlenMyu Estate. In the Sri Lankan Hill country it is relaxed and less formal.
It was time to dust off my Tuxedo and Ru to find a suitable dress. It’s been a while since we had an opportunity to get the glad rags out!Â
An amazing evening
As we entered and registered we could see that a lot of effort and imagination had been put into the launch of this luxury, business and lifestyle magazine.
We dodged the photo opportunity as we entered and were greeting with a welcome drink. We made our way into the ballroom which was decorated in a Greek theme. A table with canapés was found and we admired the other guests looking good in their formalwear. We had an opportunity to meet some new people and swap business cards.Â
The guest list included famous actors and stars, businesspeople and diplomats. As I am not originally from Sri Lanka this passed my by.
However, we met and chatted to lots of nice interesting people.
A great introduction
There was lots of entertainment planned for the evening,
Stephanie Siriwardhana, former Miss Sri Lanka Universe and now public speaker, host and singer started the main event.Â
Crossing the Ballroom singing with a microphone in hand, she then delivered the opening speech.Â
The people behind the magazine were introduced and speeches were made.
Food was served and there was a dance exhibition by two talented dancers in Greek themed clothing.

What is Elevare Magazine?
As described on their website, ELEVARE is a luxury, business and lifestyle magazine with a distinctive vision, connecting Sri Lanka’s most successful entrepreneurs at home and abroad with emerging businesses and ventures.
They believe business is not just about numbers, it’s about people, stories, memory and meaning.
During the evening the guests were presented with copies of the new magazine.
We were quite excited and opened the magazine straight away rather than waiting to get home.
Of course we searched for the article about GlenMyu Estate first!Â
We were delighted to find a two page spread on Page 82 of the Magazine. It was also a delight seeing that Amith had done a great job with the photos that he took.
Thank you Elevare
We at GlenMyu Estate are thankful to Elevare Magazine for including us in their first issue.
It was wonderful being invited to the launch of the magazine at Cinnamon Life.
The principles and aims of the magazine are in line with the ambitions of Sri Lankans and it is a perfect time to launch a magazine to reflect the country’s future.
We wish the magazine and all who enabled it to come into reality a long lasting success.
