We ask guests to bring unwanted clothes, books, toys etc that we can distribute to the families that live locally to the Estate.
However, we ask our customers not to bring plastic items as we do not want to add to the refuse burden for the Country.
BD Naketiya School, Koslanda
This is a remote school which is a 4.5km hike from the Koslanda Road.
It previously served the community that worked at the local tea estate however the estate was abandoned after a landslide. There are only a handful of families that remain in the area and their children attend BD Naketiya School.
There are only eighteen pupils at the school from grades one to four.
The children also have a hike to get to the school and some walk two to three kilometres.
The majority of the parents of the children earn a subsidence living and therefore providing school wear and materials such as books and stationery are a financial challenge to them.
We encourage our guests to do a hike to the school if they are up for the challenge and help in any way that they can.
Please see our post on our website for our hike to the school to get an idea of what it entails.
