Rice and Curry: A National Favourite
Rice and curry is the cornerstone of a typical Sri Lankan dinner.
It usually includes steamed rice served with several curries.
Curries may feature lentils, vegetables, chicken, or fish.
The combination creates a balanced and satisfying meal. Guests at GlenMyu Boutique Villa often enjoy rice and curry prepared with fresh local ingredients.
Hoppers and String Hoppers
Hoppers are bowl-shaped pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk.
They are light, crisp, and often served with sambols or curries.
String hoppers are steamed rice flour noodles, soft and delicate.
At GlenMyu Boutique Villa, guests can enjoy String Hoppers with Egg Hoddie, a dish that blends tradition with creativity.
Kottu: A Street Food Favourite
Kottu is another popular dinner option in Sri Lanka.
It is made by chopping roti bread with vegetables, eggs, or meat.
